www.Hollywood.com 's got some new pictures of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith on their site. Here's the link.

These pictures look sweet to say the least. Hayden Christensen doesn't look the wuss he portrayed in the previous film. Anakin Skywalker actually looks like a badass now. Ewan McGregor continues to look like the venerable, and knowledgable Obi-Wan Kenobi. Truth be told, I'm looking forward to this one. Episode II was a let-down for me, and it looks as if Ep. III might make up for it.

Here's hoping, ladies and gents.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith comes out 5/19/05. Mark that date, all you fanboys and girls.

Speaking of Star Wars, guess what DVD is coming out on 5/3/05?

That's right, Spaceballs! (The Collector's Edition)
Spaceballs is a great film. It was originally released in 1987 and it was produced by Mel Brooks. The man knows how to make a great spoof as proved by Blazing Saddles, and Robin Hood Men in Tights. Spaceballs is no exception. I thought this movie was hilarious when I first saw it, and I was still rolling in laughter the second time. Sadly, this was the original DVD I watched.
This new CE will be much cleaner. MGM cleaned the film and now there's no fuzzy dust and the surfaces will shine. Sound is not as sharp, but it does the job.
The CE's got a few cool bonuses. There's present day interviews with the actors and they recount all their stories and experiences with the film. There's more to be found as well.

I have to say that I'm looking forward to this one too. I felt the first one was a little to child-oriented for me (i.e. with Jar-Jar and the exceedinly lengthy pod race scene), and the second wasn't bad, definately a step in the right direction. My only concern for this one is how they are going to transition the Star Wars of today with the Star Wars of thirty years ago. But yeah still excited.
Arden
Revenge of the Sith will be almost thematically identical to Return of the Jedi. The paralells are numerous and were done intentionally. I would love to go into detail but I dobt anyone want's this movie to be spoiled for them, though I would gladly do so (in private of course) if requested. I don't think Lucasarts was really trying to keep the story or plot of this movie a secret. First of all the novelization of the movie is already out. Secondly the graphic novel is out, and finally the video game will be released a few days before the movie. You could go out right now and find out damn near everything you wanted to know, minus one or two scenes.

Still, I know for a fact this movie will be good, depsite all the glaring and retarded continuity errors that Lucas was too fucking stupid to acknowledge existed.

Arden, I completely agree with that. And yes, I also was aware that Ep. III was supposed to parallel Ep. VI. I remember reading somewhere that Lucas was in a quandary on what to name Ep. VI since Jedi don't advocate vengeance.

Of course, that might have been a figment of my imagination.

Thanks for not ruining it for us though.

Wow, I think I'm actually excited for this one!

Sounds like someone is a Star Wars fan.

A friend of mine is the biggest Star Wars geek I know, and has decided that when this movie is out and he's seen it, he basically will never see a greater moment. So he's trying to make this one even better.

He's trying to find a masseuse that will sit behind him and work her magic through the entire movie.

Nope, that's not your imagination. They were running trailers and movie posters for Episode VI with the title as "Revenge of the Jedi." Lucas was going with that almost to release until one of his assistants had to remind Lucas that revenge isn't a Jedi principle. You know...even though Lucas created it he still had to be reminded about what his creations believe in...because he's a giant fucktard.
Luneward
Lots of rumors about that out there. Some claim Lucas wasn't bright enough to understand. More sources I've seen, including the supposedly official ones say it was an advertising trick to weed out the false merchandise before the movie actually came out.

Of course we all know that believing official sources is like believing a government's official story.
b00
Hahaha. Nicely done, Arden, Luneward. Any more thoughts on those screenshots?

Anakin looks particularly meancing as a Sith. I'm glad that Episode III will be rated PG-13 as well. The previous ones struggled to be rated PG and in my opinion, it made for a child-oriented video. I guess Lucas doesn't understand that it's his older fans that he should be focusing on.

I cant wait t see this one to be honest....heard too much. Read the books...saw the cartoon miniseries...now im dying in anticipation.

A month away yes?

When I was in highschool, one of my teachers had a "Revenge of the Jedi" movie poster. They'd already sent the posters to some of the theaters before they renamed the movie "Return of the Jedi."

And this is cool:

Star Wars Trilogy Boxset - Hidden Revenge of the Jedi Trailer
Insert the 'Bonus Materials' disc and access the 'Trailers' option. Once there, highlight Return of the Jedi and press UP. Where it once said "Trailer" it will now read, "Revenge Trailer". Select it to reveal the unused teaser trailer for "Revenge of the Jedi", which was eventually renamed Return of the Jedi!

That's a sweet Easter Egg! Thanks for that tidbit, elf.

The Clone Wars animated shorts are so awesome. Watching chapters 1-25 together makes it about 2 hours long, and it's better than any of the previous prequals.

Just a month indeed.
Kayhynn
I couldnt believe how good the animated shorts were. I was just wowed.
b00
Indeed. I remember the first time I tuned in to watch it. I came in at 9:05.
"Hey! I thought they were showing Star Wars?!"
Man, at 3 minutes each, they were still great.
caffeineavatar
There will be a massive brawl for first position in line. I shall prepare pipe bombs. It should make at least regional news.

Bah, I joke. I would never survive such a fight. The Star Wars fanboys outnumber the explosives crew by MASSIVE amounts. And we are less unified, and our numbers are reduced by amateurs blowing themselves up. And to avoid jacking the thread, I will say this movie looks like it's far superior to the other two, and I should hope so.
But Lucas does have a reputation for screwing things up.
Waycos
I think the move of going to the little animated shorts was a good one. This way he isn't packing in to much into the movie like he did with 1 and 2. So I'm going to give this one the benefit of the doubt.

linuxelf posted an easter egg on the Star Wars Trilogy DVD Boxset earlier. Recently, I've had someone tell it hadn't worked for them.

The direction can be found here.

If anyone has tried it, can they please post whether it was successful or not?
Renswic
im the one that couldnt get it to work, got it to work, not sure how i managed it but it works

I have tickets to the 12:05 midnight show tonight, BABY!!! WHOOOT!

..... now I just have to figure how I'm going to stay up that long.
Waycos
My problem is not worrying about staying awake for tonight.. it's for getting up at 6:45 so I can get to work on time.

Amphetamines. See? Drugs are always the right answer.

I'm marginally intrigued by this movie, I might end up seeing it if I get some free time. I only saw the second one on TV a few days ago, and it was alright. First one was good, but Jar Jar annoyed the shit out of me.
Waycos
No JarJar in this movie, Lucas did a good job using the droids as background type humor. The sounds and comments they would make, if you caught them, were really funny.
