Seems Jackson (Peter) is trying to get a
deal for The Hobbit.
Reading the second half of the article, though, my god, how much money could you possibly want?

I'm not surprised that he wants to do it, it's been mentioned before, and I'd totally go see it.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more on this before...
I'm sure he wants lots of dinero, but the LOTR trilogy wasn't cheap, so we shouldn't expect this one to be...wonder who he'd cast...

I wish Peter Jackson would go back to doing original works instead of making boring, haphazard adaptations of old stories I enjoyed.

i've gotta agree with you his old films were so much damn fun.the baby carriage in brain dead? classic. this is the guy who shuld have directed resident evil just 'cause of the magnum scene in bad taste; "shoot it in the heid barry" kiwi's, gotta love that accent...

I loved LOTR, but the Hobbit was boring. Too boring to make into a movie.

It was more ambient than action, but I think between the Trolls and Gollum and the Dwarves and the Dragon they can do some really cool things with it.

Yeah, but it'll never live up to LOTR.

While it might not be as epic a tale as the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Hobbit is a terrific tale. I can't even begin to understand how you could say that it's too boring. Besides the trolls, the spiders, the goblins, Gollum and the Riddle Contest (drool!), the elves, and the Battle of Five Armies, there's a small matter of the most famous dragon in modern fantasy literature.
It's all about the Smaug, baby. I've been dreaming of seeing this done, and ever since Reign of Fire I've been waiting impatiently for someone to do the Big Guy justice on the big screen.
