Some interesting projects in development!

First, for Hitchcock's fans:

QUOTE
Fogler is Hitchcock in Number Thirteen
Dan Fogler is set to play Alfred Hitchcock in the indie thriller Number Thirteen, which Chase Palmer wrote and will direct, says Variety. Ewan McGregor and Geoffrey Rush are circling the other lead roles.

The film will be financed by Union Square Entertainment, whose principals, Jason Berk and Matt Lane, will produce with Gail Mutrux. Shooting begins in January.

The drama centers on Hitchcock's lost and unfinished first film, Number Thirteen. In the film, the director gets caught up in a Hitchcockian dilemma when he ends up in a love triangle with two crew members while making the film. When the lead actor turns up dead, the editor suspects the director and tries to uncover the truth.

Actually sounds kind of interesting. I wonder how it will turn out?

Also, looks like the zombie trend isn't going to disappear anytime soon:

Day of the Dead Cast Revealed
Following up on a report from Bloody-Disgusting, BlackFilm.com has confirmed that Ving Rhames, Mena Suvari, Michael Welch, Annalynne McCord, Stark Sands and Nick Cannon have been cast in Millennium Films' Day of the Dead remake.

Steve Miner (Halloween: H20) will direct the movie, written by Jeffrey Reddick. The original dealt with the zombie assault on a military establishment.

Lastly, it also seems Vampires films are far from over:

QUOTE
Dracula Year Zero Rises at Universal
Universal Pictures has acquired the spec script Dracula Year Zero by new screenwriters Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless and set it up with Michael De Luca to produce via his De Luca Productions, says Variety.

The story explores the origin of Dracula, weaving vampire mythology with the true history of Prince Vlad the Impaler, depicting Dracula as a flawed hero in a tragic love story set in a dark age of magic and war.

Alissa Phillips of De Luca Productions, who brought the project in, will serve as co-producer. Donna Langley, president of production, and Jeffrey Kirschenbaum will oversee the project.

Have a great weekend all!

well, it will have Ving Rhames in it but I don't think that balances it out at all...
