Ok, one more game for you guys. Inspired by frivalous discussion my friends and I used to have I thought I'd throw out a weekly question to stimulate the synapses and get some good discussion going. As this is the movie forum it will be movie inspired. What does that mean? Well it may be an exceptionally general question, like this week's question, or it may be highly specific, dealing with a specific scene from a movie.
I've got a lot of questions already bouncing around, but like the Top 5 this one's open for suggestions, so if you have one fire it out to me on a PM.
Anyways, on with the question:
What movie charcter do you feel is most similar to you? (This does not mean you have to like this character.)
For myself, I'd have to go with Ethan Hawke's character from Training Day (I think his name was Jake). Everything that character does is exactly what I see myself doing in those situations. I'm not proud of it, but it's true. If I was trying out for a Narcotics officer and my boss told me to do drugs or get out I could likely be persuaded to do so. If I was about to die I'd likely beg for my life. It's actually erie how similar I am to that character.
Oh and before I sign off for the morning I'll just mention that I won't likely be around to much today (Wednesday). I've got my final paper for summer session due tomorrow and it's been a rough go thus far. If all goes well Thursday's updates will be as usual, but there's an equally likely chance you won't see them untill sometime Thursday morning. Just thought you should know.
Cheers,

Nice question. Ummm, I dunno, it's a toughie. I think I might go with Joquin(sp) Phoenix's character from Buffalo Soliders, I can't remember his name, but I can so see myself playing that whole arena to my advantage and having it collapse around me, so I'm going to go with him.

Adam Sandler's version of Mr. Deeds (since I, unfortunatly, haven't seen the original yet), just because I share that same "trust everyone, there is some good in all people" attitude, but I'm not afraid to stand up when I feel something is unjust or unfair. And I've got a pretty mean right hook, too
And good luck with your final paper Giant! Or, in case you don't see this until thursday, hope it went well for ya!

Well, I can't just pick one character for me, so instead, I'm going to choose the cast from Empire Records. All the little quirks that each charcter has, I seem to have, or do. At most, I am like the charcter AJ (I forget the actor's name), but like I said before, I am more like the whole cast.

An Oompa Loompa: 3ft tall, oranage, does stupid dances with equally stupid rhymes. Perfect.
Not sure who, really, possibly Mac from The Thing.

For me i'd say River Phoenix's charater Carl, from Sneakers. Quiet, intelligent kid who hangs out with a group of crazies and occasionally breaks in to banks and such...hehe...
"NOW Carl! Carl?! What took you so long?"
"You think what I did was easy?"

I would say Edward Norton's (unnamed) character from Fight Club. Er, without all the multiple personalities thing. And female. Basically, disinfranchised by the world, but still trying to be convinced to join it. Not entirely sure where to go with my life. Still wanting to believe that I'm special, but knowing that it's not true.
Hm.... maybe not. I gotta think about this one for a while.

I had to think about this. And it's not from a movie but really the only one I can say is Gir. I say this cause 2 friends, an ex girlfriend, and a current girlfriend all said the same thing after watching one or a few of the episodes. "I don't want to insult you, but the robot reminds me of you." And they pointed out certain manurisims and the way I talk. 1 friend actually said the whole show reminded her of me. So take that for what you will.

Well this is depressing. Seymour, from Ghost World. I'm changing a bit, or conciously trying to, but yeah.

You think it's healthy to obsessively collect things? You can't relate to other people, so you fill your life with stuff... I'm just like all these other collector losers.
Sad. Not as much as I used to be. I've been desperatly pushing myself to NOT be like this, resist urges to go buy some ridiculous Criterion dvd of an old movie I've never seen, biting my tongue when someone talks about how emotional and amazing Herbie: Fully Loaded was (really happened).
There was a point where I just imagined myself being exactly like this character when I was older. I was working night shifts at a job I hated and spent half of my check and time hunting down movies, and all of my friends were either off at school or only wanting to do things when I had to go work for 12 hours at night.

Well, I have to admit that things are really starting to look up for me since my life turned to shit.

I'd say I'm a combination of Cooper from Eurotrip and Roy from A Perfect Score.
I'm weird, fun, quotable, deep, and I'll end up being one of your best friends.

I am probably most like Johnny Depp's character from "Benny and Joon" IE weird but "mostly" harmless. Through in a bit of Jason Lee in Mallrats and sprinkle with a healthy dose of Tim Curry (for that sort of dry delivery, and bad movie choices

)

The last Tim Curry movie I saw was Rocky Horror Prodigal, so I suddenly have a weird image of you.

Hmmmm. Guess I should have specified that I was talking about him in "Clue." Perhaps I could have left Tim Curry off that list, although I do like my fishnet.
I kid I kid. Really.
