The soundtrack in the 1949 film 'The Third Man' is played on what instrument?
bartman
Feb 21 2008, 08:59 PM
I'll just guess the Theremin since it's an odd instrument
Jeff N.
Feb 22 2008, 02:45 PM
The instrument used is odd, but it's not a theremin.
Edit: the instrument is used most commonly in German-speaking Alpine Europe and East Asian cultures.
Waycos
Feb 26 2008, 11:57 AM
I looked up the name of the instrument I was thinking of, I hope that's not cheating. but is it a "Zither?"

In the movie "A Shark Tale", Where is the shark mob located? And what is hanging on the wall in the main boss's room?
Waycos
Mar 6 2008, 12:03 PM
Quick hint.. the movie does take place under water.
Cybercat
Mar 6 2008, 03:12 PM
I can guess what's hanging on the wall, but no clue as to where they hang out. Never watched the movie.
Waycos
Mar 6 2008, 03:19 PM
If you can guess what's hanging on the wall (it's a picture) then you can certainly guess where they are.. it's underwater.. that should be a big giveaway.

Then I guess it's not the head of a sea horse after all. A missed chance when dealing with underwater maffia, I think.

Two movies have portrayed autism on the silver screen, What are they?
One should be fairly easy. it was definitely, definitely big
Cybercat
Mar 12 2008, 04:02 AM
I bet there's more than two, but the ones that come to mind first are "Mercury Rising" and "Rain Man".
Waycos
Mar 12 2008, 08:55 AM
I'll go with "Rain Man" and "I Am Sam"
Endros
Mar 12 2008, 01:28 PM
hmmm, I forgot about Mercury Rising. What I had in mind was Snowcake. But thats my fault about the question. CC you're up.
btw Waycos, I am Sam is about mental retardation.
Edit: Turns out I am Sam IS about Autism, but it does an absolute shit job of portaying it. There were several other movies that would have worked too. Silent Fall, House of Cards, Bless the Child.
As for Forrest Gump and I am Sam, They do a very poor job about portaying Autism as it really. They give characteristics and abilities that are not typical of or stunted in autistics, even in high functioning ones. Compared to films such as Rain Man or Snowcake which have alot of very easily identifiable and typical Autistic traits.

I certainly can't blame you for that, it wasn't a very good movie.
