Totally correct. In the foreword of the book, William Goldman tells of being in the room the first time Mandy Patinkin just reached out and slapped Andre the Giant with no warning, saying "Do it right, Fezzik!" Everyone in the room froze as Andre blinked in surprise, then started speaking his lines instead of woodenly reading them.
